Bill Self was one of America's most famous and richest basketball coaches. He was born on December 27, 1962, in the city of Okmulgee. As of December 11, 2023 Bill is worth approximately $10 Million. Bill was head coach at Kansas in 2013. He became the assistant coach to freshman sensation Andrew Wiggins. Self continued to coach the team for three years (1998-2000) at Tulsa and he posted the Tulsa record of 74-27. Self was the head coach for TU's Golden Hurricane, which made successive NCAA Tournament appearances in both 1999 and 2000. The 1999-2000 season, in addition to setting a school single-season record for victories by compiling the record at 32-5, Self led the Golden Hurricane to its first Elite Eight appearance. Self is a college basketball coach who led Kansas University to a NCAA Championship in 2012. Naismith Colleges was his award in 2012. He also won Big 12 Coaches of the Year Award that in the same year. Cindy Self was his wife in 1989. Tyler is Tyler's son and Lauren is Lauren's daughter. Self was born near Morris High School in Okmulgee. Self's father was coach of girls basketball at the school. He was awarded a basketball scholarship at Oklahoma State University. For all the four seasons in which he was a part in, he was awarded the basketball championship. He was awarded a degree by the Oklahoma State University awarded him a bachelor of administrative studies degree in the year 1985 and an MBA in Athletics Administration diploma in the year 1989. Self is the former head coach of Illinois basketball was appointed as their new coach on the 9th of June, 2000. The coach who succeeded Self Lon Kruger resigned from Illinois for a new job as head coach for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA.
